In August 2011, Sayyed Jamaleddin Asadabadi University (SJAU) was established on a small campus. It was the first national University in Asadabad county. It covered education in computer engineering and agricultural economy engineering, with only 60 students.
Over time, SJAU was extended its campus and invited professors and teachers within new majors.
The University has 1200 students in one graduate and ten undergraduate majors. The University has one college with four faculties and departments at its campus located in Asadabad city.
